Date Night Look: Bonfire

Date night look: bonfire

Well ladies, I don't know about you but I don't think there's anything more romantic than spending the night cuddled up next to someone by the fire. The summer nights tend to cool down on the coast so bonfire's on the beach or in someone's backyard are a pretty regular thing. They're also the perfect setting for a date night with someone new. Bonfire's usually mean a gathering of a few people so you and your date can get to know each other without putting the pressure on, but sitting around a fire roasting marshmallows can also be intimate. It's one of my favorite ways to get to know someone or to catch up with my old friends.

For my bonfire look above I kept it casual but pretty. Denim shorts and a loose fitting, off the shoulder sweater are comfortable but sexy at the same time. Keep your jewelry low key and your shoes low to the ground (you can probably get away with wedges if you're not going to be on the beach, but you still want to be comfortable). Leave your hair loose and wavy (NO HAIRSPRAY - you're spending the night near an open flame) and your makeup simple. Remember your best accessory, especially when meeting someone new - your smile!

Date Night: At the Fair

Date night outfit

Hi my loves! Hope you're all having a good week so far. Since I'm currently single I was talking to a couple of my friends about dating. You know going over the good parts about it (meeting someone new, trying fun new things, being treated special) and the bad parts (awkward conversation, the nerves you get while you try not to do anything dumb in front of your date, the days spent wondering if they're gonna call/if you should call). We decided the best part of dating by far is getting dressed up to go out. Even if you're going on simple summer dates you still want to look your best and make a good impression. So for the next couple days I'll be covering a few ideas for summer-themed date ideas. The first (and my personal favorite) is inspired by some of my instagram photos from yesterday's post, a night at the fair.

I like the look above because it's feminine and pretty but still comfortable enough to wear while riding roller coasters. Bright colored skinny jeans are huge right now and I like the idea of pairing them with the really soft top and accessories. The pastel cross body will keep all of your belongings safe but you'll still have both hands free for games and funnel cake!

Hi pretty people! I've been really busy since I started my new job but I got to spend the weekend celebrating with some of my friends. Here are some pictures from my instagram to give you all an idea of what I've been up to!

Let's Break a World Record

Ahhh,  Monday. The day that I get to sleep in and relax while everyone else is just getting back to work after a long weekend of fun. Since I had a long weekend of work, I guess it's only fair right?

Last week I received an email from The Woolmark Company, asking if  would participate in their attempt to break the record for the World's Largest Social Scarf. I've always wanted to help break a world record, so of course I told them to sign me up. Now my picture is a part of the Wrapped in Merino scarf! If you want to participate and possibly win some cool prizes head over to the Wrapped in Merino website to upload your picture and pick your scarf style! While you're there search "Amanda Maguire" and see my part of the scarf!

What I Wore: Summer to the Max

Happy Friday! Like I've told you before, Friday doesn't mean all that much to me since I work all weekend anyway, but it does usually mean everyone I know is ready to hit the bars after work and have some fun. Last night we started the weekend a little early at The Girl's Night Out event in Red Bank. Participating stores (like Esoterica, Ltd where I work) gave women a discount for shopping during the event, plus there were bar specials and fun raffle prizes. I wore this maxi dress to the event and accessorized it in gold and turquoise. I  completed the outfit with a couple spritzes of my favorite affordable perfume right now from Kirra at PacSun (only $6!!!).  Afterwards, I met a bunch of my friends at a pub nearby so it ended up being a great night.

Accessory Style: Beach Party

Beach Beauties

The summer sun hasn't been shining the past few days here on the Jersey Shore, but things are supposed to brighten up over the weekend. I for one love nothing more than a beach party on a beautiful day. Though most days that I spend at the beach I only wear a bathing suit, cover up and a pair of shades, beach parties call for a different kind of attire. Even if you're only attending a casual occasion, it's still a chance to look your best. So show off your style. make sure you accessorize those cute cover-ups! If you're going to be in the sand make sure you wear flat sandals so you spend the day having fun instead of trying to walk without falling on your face. I'd keep everything else kind of casual, and make sure you have a beach tote with everything you need for the day/night. Jewelry can be a tough one, in this case. If you're actually going to be spending a ton of time in the sand and the ocean I'd skip the jewelry, it might get ruined or lost. However, if it's more of a tiki bar or beach house party go for the jewels. Keep things to a summery beach theme, like the starfish ring and turquoise earrings above. Just remember to take them off if you decide to go for a swim!

Invisible Support

Hi lovelies, I hope you're all having a beautiful day. I for one am in a great mood since I'm finally getting back into the fashion merchandising business. I was just hired at a boutique near me! I'm so excited to finally get back in a store working with merchandise and helping people shop!

Anyway, since I showed you all my favorite picks for summer tanks, I thought I'd go over some of the different bras you might need this summer while you wear them and your summer dresses. There's nothing that ruins a classy outfit faster than visible bra straps. So here's my list of must-have bras for the summer.

The Racerback.

Charmed by Maidenform.

 The Deep-V Plunge.

Fashion Forms New U.

The Backless.
