Date Night: At the Fair

Hi my loves! Hope you're all having a good week so far. Since I'm currently single I was talking to a couple of my friends about dating. You know going over the good parts about it (meeting someone new, trying fun new things, being treated special) and the bad parts (awkward conversation, the nerves you get while you try not to do anything dumb in front of your date, the days spent wondering if they're gonna call/if you should call). We decided the best part of dating by far is getting dressed up to go out. Even if you're going on simple summer dates you still want to look your best and make a good impression. So for the next couple days I'll be covering a few ideas for summer-themed date ideas. The first (and my personal favorite) is inspired by some of my instagram photos from yesterday's post, a night at the fair. 

I like the look above because it's feminine and pretty but still comfortable enough to wear while riding roller coasters. Bright colored skinny jeans are huge right now and I like the idea of pairing them with the really soft top and accessories. The pastel cross body will keep all of your belongings safe but you'll still have both hands free for games and funnel cake!

Summer Trend: Plaid Prep

If there's one trend I love to wear year round, it's plaid. When worn the right way it can be the perfect combination of casual and preppy. I love pairing a plaid button up with a pair of denim shorts and sandals for an evening bonfire on the beach. Though some might worry they'll look like they're wearing a table cloth, when accessorized correctly I think plaid makes for a fresh, pretty style. I especially like the idea of pairing a plaid sundress, like the pink Abercrombie number above, with a great pair of wedges and golden brown skin. 

If you don't want to incorporate plaid into your everyday look, opt for a pair of plaid boxer shorts like the Juicy Couture pair above and a cute tank so you can sleep in style. When shopping for your summer staples you must not forget the bag. I have three go-to bags for the summer season: day, night and beach. The bags above are all trending for the summer season this year. I especially like the nautical (shocker) and hardware styles. Neon is HUGE right now. Both Lauren Conrad and her pals at The Beauty Department blogged about ways to wear the trend last week.

These options are all crazy expensive, but when shopping for my own wardrobe I like to model it after the best. These trends are all over the place. For less pricey options check out Kohls, Target or Marshall's.
