Date Night Look: Bonfire

Date night look: bonfire

Well ladies, I don't know about you but I don't think there's anything more romantic than spending the night cuddled up next to someone by the fire. The summer nights tend to cool down on the coast so bonfire's on the beach or in someone's backyard are a pretty regular thing. They're also the perfect setting for a date night with someone new. Bonfire's usually mean a gathering of a few people so you and your date can get to know each other without putting the pressure on, but sitting around a fire roasting marshmallows can also be intimate. It's one of my favorite ways to get to know someone or to catch up with my old friends.

For my bonfire look above I kept it casual but pretty. Denim shorts and a loose fitting, off the shoulder sweater are comfortable but sexy at the same time. Keep your jewelry low key and your shoes low to the ground (you can probably get away with wedges if you're not going to be on the beach, but you still want to be comfortable). Leave your hair loose and wavy (NO HAIRSPRAY - you're spending the night near an open flame) and your makeup simple. Remember your best accessory, especially when meeting someone new - your smile!

MDW looks: Brunch Beauty

MDW looks: Brunch Beauty

MDW brunch

I hope you all have fabulous plans for this coming memorial day weekend. My job this week will be to make sure you're all dressed for the occasion by covering outfits you'll probably need this weekend. Above are two ideas for brunch/lunch events with your friends and family this weekend. Summer means showing skin, so make sure you follow my tips to get beautiful summer hair and skin here and here. Then show off all that hard work with a sundress. Both of the dresses above can be dressed up or down easily depending on where you're going. Add wedges to dress it up or put on flats to keep it casual. A blazer is also a great way to add some sophistication. The black and white nautical dress would look especially good with a bright blazer, like the one seen here

Summer's the perfect time for fun jewelry. Try rings and earrings in unique shapes and chunky bracelets in bright colors. Finally, don't forget to pop on a pair of shades!

You Fancy Huh?: What I Wore

Well it's Monday and I hope you all had as good a weekend as I did. The weather was beautiful and I spent lots of time with my friends and family. My older brother was visiting from Virginia and I got to meet my new niece for the first time. The perfect end to a fabulous weekend was my friends wedding last night! The weather was gorgeous and the ceremony was beautiful. As an end to my "You Fancy Huh" series I thought I'd show you guys what I wore to the wedding. Enjoy!

All the jewelry is from Target, the clutch is Steve Madden, the Sandals are New York Transit, and the dress is from Joyce Leslie.
