Anchor Yourself

I'm in love. My friend introduced me to these anchor bracelets on Etsy and now I'm obsessed. The best part is they're super inexpensive so I can buy a bunch of them and layer em' up. Ahh my nautical themed life has some new inspiration. I wonder if I should just fully embrace my obsession and move into a house boat. If I wasn't such a poor swimmer I'd think that was a wonderful idea.

MDW looks: Brunch Beauty

I hope you all have fabulous plans for this coming memorial day weekend. My job this week will be to make sure you're all dressed for the occasion by covering outfits you'll probably need this weekend. Above are two ideas for brunch/lunch events with your friends and family this weekend. Summer means showing skin, so make sure you follow my tips to get beautiful summer hair and skin here and here. Then show off all that hard work with a sundress. Both of the dresses above can be dressed up or down easily depending on where you're going. Add wedges to dress it up or put on flats to keep it casual. A blazer is also a great way to add some sophistication. The black and white nautical dress would look especially good with a bright blazer, like the one seen here. 

Summer's the perfect time for fun jewelry. Try rings and earrings in unique shapes and chunky bracelets in bright colors. Finally, don't forget to pop on a pair of shades!

There's really nothing better than the summer. Seriously, fire-pits, bbq's, outdoor bars, THE BEACH. The best thing about summer is the clothing, I love the bright colors, girly dresses and sandals. As you read more of my posts you'll come to realize I'm somewhat obsessed with nautical themes (there is an anchor in my banner. There's also one permanently tattooed on my back) and today's post is no different. I love LOVE love navy blue and white striped anything. I also love the idea of pairing the color combo with another bright color whether it be pink, orange, green or red. Just be careful if you go in the orange direction. This blazer is great because it's a blood-red orange, but if you go with something closer to actual orange you may come off looking like a NY Mets cheerleader (if such a thing existed). Now I'm a huge Mets fan, but that doesn't mean I want to walk around looking like I knocked off their uniform.
