MDW Looks: Bikini Bod

Well lovely ladies, we can't talk about MDW outfits without bringing up the almighty swimsuit! I live in bathing suits in the summer, in fact I'm in one right now. I'm sitting outside enjoying one of the first real summery feeling days here in Jersey. As you can see, I have zero patients for this weekends arrival. Anyway, here are a few of my favorite picks for this season.

jcrew.

Jcrew is the place to go for your preppy summer swim suits. These are two of my favorite's from their 2012 collection. I love the navy blue and white polka dotted bikini (my favorite colors) and though I'm not usually a one piece girl this suit is so fashionable I couldn't pass it up.

kohls.

Love the ruffles on this adorable (and affordable) bikini!

target.

Target is definitely the place to go if you're looking for a stylish suit on a budget. They have a huge selection and they run for about $14.99 a piece.

victoria's secret.

Victoria's Secret never fails me with their bikini collection. They are super sexy and always come in great prints and colors. I love the bandeau tops they have like the floral one above.

Hope you're all as excited as me to get in a swimsuit and on the beach! What's your favorite place to buy a new bikini?

MDW looks: Brunch Beauty

MDW looks: Brunch Beauty

MDW brunch

I hope you all have fabulous plans for this coming memorial day weekend. My job this week will be to make sure you're all dressed for the occasion by covering outfits you'll probably need this weekend. Above are two ideas for brunch/lunch events with your friends and family this weekend. Summer means showing skin, so make sure you follow my tips to get beautiful summer hair and skin here and here. Then show off all that hard work with a sundress. Both of the dresses above can be dressed up or down easily depending on where you're going. Add wedges to dress it up or put on flats to keep it casual. A blazer is also a great way to add some sophistication. The black and white nautical dress would look especially good with a bright blazer, like the one seen here

Summer's the perfect time for fun jewelry. Try rings and earrings in unique shapes and chunky bracelets in bright colors. Finally, don't forget to pop on a pair of shades!

Summer, Summer, Summertime

Oh hey there summer, it's been too long. This weekend is one of my favorite holidays, Memorial Day weekend! On the Jersey Shore MDW means the start of long lazy days on the beach with drinks, bbq's, friends, family and lots of laughs. Unfortunately, it also means the start of the benny season (The people who travel from New York and nothern Jersey are called benny's by the locals. If you're trying to picture them, think the cast of the Jersey Shore.) Anyway, this week will be MDW themed, starting with everything you need for your summer tool kit.

1. Get the "just got off the beach" hair all the time with Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Spray
2. Pucker Up in summer pretty  pink with NYX Xtreme lip cream in Dolly Girl
3. Lay out in style with fun beach towels from Bed Bath & Beyond
4. Two birds, one stone. Get golden skin, while protecting it from the rays with Banana Boat Summer Color
5. Keep your hair and skin hydrated in that heat, with Focus Seaplasma Hair/Skin Moisturizer Spray
6. Fill those summer nights with a sweet summer scent like CK One Summer.

The sun is a wonderful thing but it can also do a lot of beauty damage. Make sure to protect your skin and hair when you're out all day, and drink lots of water! It'll keep you glowing from the inside out.

You Fancy Huh?: What I Wore

Well it's Monday and I hope you all had as good a weekend as I did. The weather was beautiful and I spent lots of time with my friends and family. My older brother was visiting from Virginia and I got to meet my new niece for the first time. The perfect end to a fabulous weekend was my friends wedding last night! The weather was gorgeous and the ceremony was beautiful. As an end to my "You Fancy Huh" series I thought I'd show you guys what I wore to the wedding. Enjoy!

All the jewelry is from Target, the clutch is Steve Madden, the Sandals are New York Transit, and the dress is from Joyce Leslie.

You Fancy Huh?: Outfit # 3

Wedding outfit idea number three

Well, here is the last installment of my summer formal wear series for the week. For my last idea I think it's time to push the sophisticated sex appeal. Nothing is hotter than a curve hugging red dress and the one above covers enough skin, so you come off looking sexy but not trashy. A few well chosen statement pieces of gold jewelry gives the look an upscale, sophisticated feel. Add a pair of strappy sandals and a funky clutch and you'll be taking in compliments all night.

Thank you for your comments on my other wedding attire posts from this week! It's so nice to get feedback from anyone who reads my blog and I love to know that I'm actually reaching people! I hope my outfit for my friends wedding goes over as well as some of my fantasy (non-budget constrained) choices. I'll be sure to post some pictures Monday.

You Win: Blake Lively

all about the hemline

Blake, Blake, Blake your style (almost) never fails me. I love this dip hem dress she's wearing. Though the train might be a little much for everyday life, a dip hem dress is a great option as a summer go-to. Pair them with a funky necklace, chunky bangles and wavy hair to get Blake's carefree, beachy bohemian look.
