Happy Tuesday my friends! One of the things I have the most trouble with when it comes to fashion is sex appeal. Some people are SO good at it, I on the other hand feel completely awkward when I try. I've always been better at the laid back, cute, girl-next-door kind of look so that's usually what I stick to. Plus it can be a thin line between sexy and slutty, something I definitely want to avoid. The above look is glamorous and sexy, I absolutely adore the fitted bodice of that dress. Now if only I had someone to take me somewhere I could wear it to...

Let's Talk About Sex (Appeal).

Beach Break!
1. Beach bag from the Gap 2. Stephen King's "11/23/63" 3. Hawaiian Tropic Tanning Cream Lotion 4. Thrift store sunnies 5. Home-made beach waves spray 6. Chapstick in Cherry 7.Forever 21 beach cover up 8. Old Navy beach towel 9. My shell and rock collection.
Today I thought I'd give you all a peek at what I carry when I hit the sand. The most important items are definitely my sunnies, tanning lotion, chapstick and a good book. My current read is this Stephen King novel about a man who goes back in time to try and save JFK from being assassinated. It's awesome. That little collection of shells and stones are what I have found during my walks along the edge of the water. I keep them all in my beach bag until the end of the season and then I usually make something pretty with them for a room decoration. What are your must-have beach items?
PS. Here's the recipe for my home-made beach waves spray:
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup WARM water
3 Tablespoons Sea Salt
1 Tablespoon Gel or Spray Gel
1/2 Tablespoon Conditioner (or leave-in)
A couple spritzes of your favorite perfume
DIRECTIONS:
Mix Warm water and salt first and shake well.
Add the rest of the ingredients.
Spray your hair generously and scrunch.

Etsy Dreamin'
Hello hello. I hope everyone's recovered from their fourth of July hangovers. Mine lasted well into yesterday, but thankfully I'm good as new and ready to start the weekend. After I did my anchor bracelet post the other day I started sinking further and further into the dangerous world of Etsy shopping. Here are a few of my favorite finds from my (faux) shopping spree.
Obviously I have an affinity for silver jewelry and my (not-too-subtle) inner nerd is obsessed with these coasters covered in excerpts from Harry Potter. Alas, my wallet is not large enough to support all these great finds. I guess I'll have to try and make a couple of them myself.

Happy Independence Day!
1. Frozen blueberry lemonade 2. Essie nailpolish in Jelly Apple and Mesmerized 3. High waisted denim shorts from Topshop. 4. Bracelet from American Eagle
Ahh 4th of July we meet again. Beers, BBQ and celebrating this fine country I've been lucky enough to grow up in. To be honest it's probably going to result in too many beers and definitely too many hamburgers, but what's a girl to do. I'm passionate about my love for America and when I'm passionate I like to go all out in my celebrations.
In all seriousness, I'm incredibly grateful to be American and to be lucky enough to live in this country. So cheers everyone, here's to the red white and blue.
And by the way, you can find the recipe for the Frozen Blueberry Lemonade at Real Simple.

Anchor Yourself

I'm baaacckkkk.
Okay guys, I'm back. Sorry for the hiatus but sometimes you just need to refuel. While I was taking a stay-cation from blogging (I was still working unfortunately) I was dreaming about a real vacation. So of course I decided to torture myself by looking up destinations and adding a bunch of travel accessories to shopping carts that I will most likely never actually purchase. The above list shows some of the results. Now excuse me, while I go imaginary shoe shopping.
ps. I know I said this week's post would be about my room reorganization/redo but there was a slight hold up in the process. It's coming soon though, scouts honor.
